It is a snow day here in Chicago. CPS called off school for the first time in 12 years. So that means I woke up naturally to a gusty winter wonderland. Here are a few pics of the snow and what is going on at our house today.
The view from our front door.
Snow blew into the crack in our front door. Fortunately we've got a couple doors to go through before getting to this one. So we were cozy. I can't say the same for my friend, Eleanor, who's front window broke last night during the blizzard. She wins the winter survival contest.
Waffles and bacon anyone?
This fatty knows how to take it easy. Oh Penny!
A perfect snow day project. PJ pants for yours truly! In the mood for a little online fabric shopping anyone? Check out my favorite Chicago fabric store's online shop, The Needle Shop. When this snow clears you will need to go there, because honestly, you have to see to believe. That place is inspiration city (more about TNS soon!).
Turk is mesmerized by the snow. He is far more active than usual, if he is not doing this, he is chasing snowflakes in the window or snuggling with Max.
The best part of the snow day is that Max is at home too. Reading about what, you ask? You guessed it. . . Lance, Floyd and the rest of those proffy cyclists.
And, oh yes, my friend Eleanor and I have tickets to our first Broadway in Chicago show tonight, Les Miserables. So far I haven't heard the show is canceled and since Eleanor challenged me to the winter survival contest, you better believe we are both going to be there. I'll keep you posted.
Stay warm, stay safe, and if you find yourself compelled to be out and about please feel free to stop by. Love, all of us on Mozart Street.
